How would one reaction to a thrash metal band that named themselves after another thrash metal bands famous album? Bonded by Blood got their name from a very influential album from Exodus. Will Bonded by Blood tarnish this name or is another great thrash metal band born?
Feed the Beast sounds like it came from the early days of thrash metal. The albums production value is up to normal day standards, so the old school sound is definitely a nice touch from this new thrash metal band.
The band is made up of four individuals. Alex Lee and Juan Juarez, the bands double guitar team, tear up Feed the Beast with their fast riffs and intense solos. Most of Lee and Juarez’s solos on this album are up to par with some of Megadeth’s earlier releases.
With all of the fast instrumentation on this album, it starts to sound the same after four, short tracks. Certain tracks do change the mood of the album, but the same sound will always plague Feed the Beast.
Bonded by Blood’s main man, Jose “Aladdin” Barrales, delivers a more spoken word approach to the lyrics. His yelling/thrash voice is very high pitched, so high pitched you may wonder if Aladdin was in another kind of band before Bonded by Blood. Along with his singing, there are plenty of gang vocals to make thrash metal and hardcore fans happy.
Final Verdict: Feed the Beast is one of those thrash metal albums that will gain praise from old school fans. There is a lot more thrash on this album than most modern day bands in this genre. Bonded by Blood has what it takes to become one of the leading bands in the genre. (Review Busters)
