I've listened a lot of grind, and nearly all grind-bands follow those same patterns we all recognize. And So does Bodies Lay Broken, at least partially; jap-movie samples in almost every song, two or three kinds of vocals growling so low and monotonic that you can't figure out one word out of the lyrics (if there even are any), lot of blastbeats (the drums have been mixed superbly, good bass pedal sound), and chainsaw-like fast riffing. They just managed to get it sound very VERY good.
Negative things... The movie samples, all in japanese language and can't be understood. And stupid song titles that doesn't make sense. Or does "Prodromal Mesenterium Torose Ramex" sound understandable to you?
Argh, I can't describe this any better... You'll just have to take my word that this album is a gem amidst those thousands crappier grindcore-recordings. I've listened this cd through like a thousand times, usually in a drunken stupor. Brutal, fast, dirty, gory... A simple masterpiece. Get it now.
