Biography
The year of 1999, seeking their way to express themselves, few young Finnish metalheads started to learn the arts of deathmetal. And in the year 2000 during the intense training of playing and songwriting, Scent of Flesh started to breath. The style was brutal and technical deathmetal with melodic influences, and that style has followed Scent of Flesh throughout their existence. No big chances in their style, just evolving in playing- and songwritingskills, has kept them honest to deathmetal. The one style they started with.
First demo, “Drowned into the Darkness”, was released in January 2001. Despite the good reviews, this demo didn´t get them any recordingdeals, so their second demo “Towards Eternal Lost” was released in November 2001. This time Black Lotus Records offered a deal what caused the releasing of debut album “Roaring Depths of Insanity” at the end of the year 2002. Deal was signed for three albums, but the co-operation failed time after time and Scent of Flesh decided to leave Black Lotus.
Negotiations with Firebox Records started right after breaking the unforunate deal, and resulted in publishing the second album “Valor in Hatred” in year 2004. After that, a new deal was signed with Firebox Records and band´s first EP “Become Malignity” will be released in November 2005. This sadistic release will lead the way to their more and more brutal path of deathmetal. And there´s no light in the end of that tunnel.
