Biography
2000-2001
In summer 2000, a new band arises from the ashes of long time hardcore punk band Sharpeville. After the break-up the remaining 4/5 of the former band form DITW by introducing a new bassplayer into the line-up. The band still stays nameless and faceless. Some material is written during 2001 and the style evolves into a darker and heavier direction.
2002
Spring 2002 brought many new things for the band. Finally, a name is found for the band. The first gig was played in April in Turku, Finland, with From Ashes Rise. Shortly after this, the band recorded three songs for a self titled 7" and this first recording was released in October 2002 by two finnish labels, Winter Records and Thrash And Burn Recordings. The band played only a couple of gigs during the wintertime.
2003
A whole new chapter opened in spring again as in June 2003 the band entered the same studio as previously in Tampere, Finland, and recorded 6 new tracks. This time the result was even heavier and more melancholic as the first 7". 5 of these tracks were released on ”Less days left until the final rest” MCD on Thrash And Burn in September. As the CD was out of the printers, the band toured Scandinavia with Northern Ireland's The Dagda and Stand-Up Guy. In the end of December, a 10” vinyl version of the CD came out on Winter Records with the full 6 song recording.
2004
After the record came out, the band played some gigs in Finland in early 2004. In June it was time to tour outside Scandinavia for the first time, and as a result of this the band played 9 gigs in Germany, Holland, Belgium and Denmark. After the tour things got quiet and the band decided to concentrate on finally writing new material for a full lenght recording, as no new material had been written during the year after recording of the MCD/10".
2005
During winter and spring of 2005, a couple of new songs are being very slowly written. The new material is dominated further by a feeling of sadness, loss and death, as in the same time the songs are longer and more dynamic than the earlier material, using more elements of melodic guitar passages. In the beginning of July, the band plays it's biggest gig yet as closing act on their hometown's open air festival. A few weeks after the gig, Lauri decides to quit the band and move on to other things. Shortly, a new drummer is found from the band's hometown. Rehearsing and writing new material commences.
2006
The new material is coming together and in February a raw demo is recorded of the upcoming album.
